Is it not my right to know who I am completely? So many things I can attribute to my identity and yet I still never felt entirely whole, how?​ Check marking Black/African American was no longer good enough. I wanted to love myself by not only learning who I'm progressing into but where I came from. Inspired by my interview with an SIU DACA student, discussing what it means to be American, made me soon wonder about the definition of culture and community for my self.
