This how I would like to paint the picture, yes exactly like so.

Mother of Monsters

Picture
Abandoned souls
She gave a home
To rest their tired feet from running
She loved them in her eyes
Smothering them with lies
Lies she caked like makeup upon her blistering face
There is good reason for vacancy in her halls
Baring anything but honest words
Strip down of ego
Leave vanities folded in the drawer she placed them

Solitude I found within myself
Something I looked for in you
Giving what you thought I wanted
But nothing I truly needed
So I had nothing among the mounds
Of trinkets, jewelries, and toys
They were absent of feeling and thought
They didn't appease me or make me feel soft
If you could break my heart all over again
I am sure you would
You owe me nothing because I never asked
Content in discretion and comforted in the depth found between us
You poured into me as a vessel of relief, convenience
Escaping your disturbed dreams
My love I am not your medicine

A Lost Nation

Picture
Gods among men
Plated burnt bronze skin
Devouring the rays of sun
No limit to reality
Masters of creation and abstract thought
Emulated but never duplicated
Distinguished madams and scholarly kings
Royal blood as thick and long as the curl on their head
Dominance seeped from their pores
They slept too lightly
Thieves creeped in the dark shadows
Studying their ways
Formulating theories and simulated their wonder
Authentic and sacred titles not held tight enough
Hot wind, silent waters
Massacre the sons and take the daughters
Stripped of their pride
Like muscle shed from bone
Lost among the sea no trace of home
More than 400 years scraping the heels of men
Affliction and tribulation
The destruction of a nation
Once said to be gods among men
They licked the wounds of shame
Uncovered the veil that masked their truth
Salvaged the fragments of themselves
Yet an unsolved puzzle still stands
Drowning in deceitful waters
Who are them that were said to be gods among man.
